MILWAUKEE -- Some notes from the UFC on Versus 5 post-fight press conference:
-- UFC president Dana White announced the bonuses on Twitter before the press conference. Chris Lytle won both Submission of the Night and Fight of the Night, netting him $130,000 and a Harley-Davidson. Dan Hardy picked up $65,000 for his half of the Fight of the Night performance, and Donald Cerrone won $65,000 for his Knockout of the Night of Charles Oliveira.
-- UFC chairman Lorenzo Fertitta tweeted that he has no plans to cut Hardy, despite his four-fight losing skid. He said, "I like guys that WAR."
"It's a nice vote of confidence from the boss. I love being a part of the organization. If they are going to give me one more fight, I need to come back reinvented," Hardy said.
-- Lytle admitted that he was surprised that Hardy shot in on him during the final minutes of the fight. He said it was an instinct to reach for the guillotine.
"He's one of the toughest guys I've been in there with. I threw a lot of hard shots on him and it didn't stop him," Lytle said of Hardy.
-- Ben Henderson doesn't know where he would rank in the very crowded UFC lightweight title picture.
"It's not my place to say I'm no. 7, no. 21. You guys tell me. What does Dana think? What does Sean Shelby think?" Henderson said.
-- Though his job is safe, Dan Hardy plans to give himself some time away from fights to improve.
"I think my head is elsewhere right now. I think I'm going to step away and clear my mind a bit. I had quickest rise and quickest fall in the UFC," Hardy said.
-- Henderson paid tribute to his teammates by getting on his knees and begging UFC brass to take a look at the other fighters in the gym, a completely selfless act for a fighter who could reasonably be using his post-fight speech to ask for a title shot. Henderson was predictably humble when asked about it.
"We're not alone in that cage. We have training partners who bleed with us. They're our brothers. If not for those guys, I wouldn't be where I'm at. Life like a fighter is life like a starving artist, and I just want them to get a shot. I will stand behind them."
-- Jim Miller had questioned the readiness of WEC fighters when the UFC first merged with the organization. Donald Cerrone and Henderson, both WEC vets, smiled at that fact.
"I think the little brothers just beat up the big brothers!" Cerrone said.

If fighters deliver on fight night for the UFC, the promotion has no problem throwing lots of cash their way. Bonuses for Fight of the Night, Submission of the Night and Knockout of the Night have turned out to be brilliant moves and really motivate the fighters.
There was no submission victory at UFC 133 so UFC president Dana White used the extra cash to award a brand new bonus -- "the thanks for getting those horrifying shorts off TV as soon as possible" bonus.
Brian Ebersole's victory was impressive, but White was happier with the fact that he no longer had to watch Dennis Hallman (pictured) in the Octagon wearing tiny, tiny blue Speedos.
White argued that Hallman's fight gear wasn't even a Speedo.
"That wasn't a Speedo. I've seen Speedos before, that had to be custom made," White said with a tone somewhere between joking and still kind of irked. "[Ebersole] deserved every dime he got!"

The blue trunks may have distracted Ebersole. A good grappler, he was taken down in the opening 15 seconds of the fight and had to deal with a submission predicament. Hallman had his back and was trying to secure a choke.
"I was just worried about that cup, and his uniform malfunctioning to be quite honest," joked Ebersole. "I knew I was fine from there. I've been training with some very, very good black belts in Melbourne, Australia."
Aside from the money, Ebersole said the strange reason for the bonus will make for a great story down the road.
"It's obviously one of them stories that's going to stick out for a long time. The longer I fight, the less stories I'm probably going to remember. That'll be one I can tell the grandkids and have a laugh about," said Ebersole.
Ebersole's journey to fighting on a UFC pay-per-view is pretty amazing. He's a 30-year-old from Indiana, but had to fight abroad to finally get his chance. He moved to Australia in 2007 and logged a total of 61 professional fights before catching the attention of the UFC. Now he's 2-0 with the biggest promotion in the world.
"It's a bit surreal. I always knew I could compete with the best guys in the world because I trained [in the past] with the best guys in the world out in California. So to be able to get my chance and win my first two fights ... you know I got thrown at the wall and I stuck," Ebersole said. "You know they can't rid of me for a little while. I'm pretty happy that I've done what I set out to do."

In preparing for his UFC on Versus 6 bout with Stefan Struve, Pat Barry has to prepare for a bit of a height difference. Struve, nicknamed "Skyscraper," is a foot taller than Barry, and will have an eight-inch reach advantage. With that much of a deficit, Barry has to come up with some unconventional training methods.
Tickets for their card in D.C. at the Verizon Center, which will be headlined by Dominick Cruz's title defense against Demetrious Johnson, will go on sale Wednesday for UFC Fight Club members, and the general public on Friday.

After another successful event in Philadelphia, the UFC has another light heavyweight contender, a "Phenom" back to his old ways and a young Canadian who continues to impress.
No. 1 star -- Rashad Evans: With a 15-month break between fights, Evans was expected to experience ring rust in his bout with Tito Ortiz. Ring rust must mean overwhelming power and precise striking to Evans, because that's exactly what he showed in the bout that ended with a second-round TKO. Next up? The winner of champ Jon Jones vs. Quinton Jackson, meaning that no matter who wins at UFC 135, MMA fans are in for another fun round of trash talk.
No. 2 star -- Vitor Belfort: In all of Belfort's highlight reels, you can see a young, curly-haired Belfort take out his opponents with dominating strikes. The curls are gone, but he showed that he still has that power, taking out Yoshihiro Akiyama in less than two minutes. Now, he wants a chance to redeem himself against middleweight champ Anderson Silva after getting knocked out in February.
No. 3 star -- Rory MacDonald: At just 22, MacDonald already has three UFC wins under his belt. On Saturday night, he showed just why fans should be so excited about his future, TKOing Mike Pyle in the first round. His only loss is to Carlos Condit, and since then, he has rattled off wins over Nate Diaz and Pyle.
