MMA Marketplace: What to buy instead of the UFC 151 pay-per-view

With UFC 151's sudden cancellation, we all have an extra $54.95 on our hands -- $44.95 if you buy standard definition pay-per-views. Want to spend your time and money to express your unhappiness over a lack of fights this weekend? Cagewriter is here to help.

If you're of the belief that the UFC 151 cancellation is totally on the back of Jon Jones and his refusal to fight Chael Sonnen, this shirt is for you. Get it for $10.50 plus shipping on eBay.

Considering how angry UFC president Dana White is with Jones, you can bet there won't be many other times in the future that they'll sign the same card. Get this one through an eBay auction that is currently at $86.

If you don't want to spend money this weekend, Clinch Gear is still giving away a Dan Henderson prize pack. Check out their Facebook page for more information.

Jon Jones happy to fight Vitor Belfort but wants future bout with Chael Sonnen

This past few weeks have been among the toughest of UFC light heavyweight champ Jon Jones? career. Fortunately, the light at the end of the tunnel is only a few weeks away, as ?Bones? is booked to face Vitor Belfort on September 22 at UFC 152. The scrap should mark the first step in Jones putting the debacle of UFC 151 behind him and is also an opportunity for the 25-year old to face a man he has a ton of respect for.

Belfort has been fighting for more than fifteen years including a number of memorable wins against widely-respected opponents and a UFC belt to boot. While those credentials don?t necessarily make Belfort a legitimate contender at 205 pounds considering his recent success is at middleweight, Jones is still happy to be locking horns with a legend.

?No, I don?t think he necessarily deserves (a title-shot) but I?m honored to fight him,? explained Jones in an interview with The MMA Hour. ?He?s a great guy, a hard working guy?I respect Vitor Belfort a lot. I?m honored to fight him. I think he?s definitely a worthy opponent.?

Belfort Calls Jones the Greatest Fighter in UFC History

Jones also elaborated on his feelings about Chael Sonnen and the polarizing pugilist?s trash-talk aimed at baiting Jones into a short notice bout with him. Though Jones wasn?t disappointed to find out he would be battling Belfort instead of Sonnen, he didn?t mince words when it came to the possibility of a future meeting between the two.

?Chael will get his time and when his time comes, I?ll tell you what, I?m gonna beat that man silly. I really will. I really will,? said Jones matter-of-factly.

Ronda Rousey likely fighting before potential clash with Cris Cyborg

There is no fight fans would rather see on the women?s side of MMA than a rumble between unbeaten Strikeforce bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey and ferocious former featherweight title-holder Cristiane Santos. Fortunately, it appears Strikeforce management feels the same way as the sport’s supporters.

CEO Scott Coker recently confirmed the company is dead set on booking a bout between Santos and Rousey. However, with ?Cyborg? suspended until mid-December it appears ?Rowdy Ronda? will fight at least one more time before the two talented females lock horns in the ring.

?I’m sure Ronda would like to fight before (that),? explained Coker in an interview with MMAJunkie. ?She barely broke a sweat in her last fight. It’s something where she’s been dominant and she’s going to want to fight, I think, before ‘Cyborg’ can actually get back in the cage off the suspension.?

While there remain some major humps to get over pertaining to Santos-Rousey, such as figuring out what weight the collision would be contested at, it looks like Coker has a complete grasp of how important putting it together is and will do what he can to facilitate things.

“That fight, believe me, is something I think should happen. I think it’s something that will happen. And when Cyborg gets off suspension, the conversation is going to get very, very real about putting that fight together because I think that’s the fight everyone wants to see,? he concluded on the matter.

“Cyborg” Open to Dropping Down to 140 Pounds for Fight if Rousey Will Move Up from 135

No potential opponent was mentioned for Rousey though, interestingly enough, undefeated Olympian Sara McMann was recently inked to the company?s roster.
